A special glue will protect the person during a crash.
The company Google has patented in the United States a special coating, attaching pedestrian to the bonnet during a collision. The application was filed in 2014, the Agency for patents and trademarks in the country endorsed it just now.
A layer of special glue will be hidden behind layers of other, non-sticky coating applied to the front of the car. The adhesive will actually be in the likeness of the eggshell. Upon impact, the coating is destroyed, the glue will show through to the outside and will record the person on the hood.
In Google explained that the development aims to reduce the potential for injury from the so-called “second shock” — when after a collision, the pedestrian hits the windshield, pavement or other machines. It is possible that “sticky-hood” will be equipped with a self-driving car of Google, which is now undergoing road tests.
