The Primoz Roglic, won 40-kilometer race with a separate start.
At the initial stage of the Giro in the Netherlands, Roglic almost tore the triumph of Tom Dumoulin – today 26-year-old debutant three-week races as nobody interfered. Roglic, reasonable distribution of power, being able to significantly gain on the final leg of cutting.
“In the beginning was driving very slowly, but in the end picked up speed, and I was lucky because the rain just started to drizzle, and when I went the racers, which started with me, went to the shower. So to me everything seems unreal. I didn’t expect victory, but simply tried to drive as best as possible,” says the sensational winner of the ninth stage of the Giro.
Gianluca Brambilla kept on their shoulders the pink Jersey of the overall leader, ahead of his teammate Bob Jungels for just one second. After a rest day the Giro will continue the first serious mountain stage with a mountain of first category and the final ascent of the third category.
