Alexander Foliforov sensationally won the mountain 10-kilometer race with a separate start.
On the cut-off of 4.4 km Foliforov lost Kraslice 39 seconds – the final cut mining and butchering the Russians was much more powerful, and the final benefit rider “Gazprom-Rusolo” over the pink Jersey was a few tenths of a second.
Despite the missed victory, today Kresevic should be happy – the Dutchman has significantly extended his lead in the General classification. The main favorite of the race Vincenzo Nibali because of the broken bike Kraslice now losing almost three minutes.
Tomorrow the Giro d’italia last rest day before the decisive week.
