The number and quality of projects submitted to the pitching of the cinema Fund, allow making optimistic forecasts about the rental of our competition with foreign movies. This “Izvestia” said a member of the expert Council of Fund of cinema Oleg Ivanov.
On the eve of the cinema Fund has announced the list of projects of the companies — not leaders who claim to receive state support, — a total of 63 paintings. Among them — already-established animated franchise “Belka and Strelka 3” and “the snow Queen 3”, “Wolves and sheep 2” Studio projects “Russian film group” “Wii: Journey to China” and “Journey to India”, children’s picture of “Private pioneer 3”, the Director continues Alexander Karpilovsky, as well as new large-scale project Director Svetlana Druzhinina “midshipmen 1787” (the fourth part of the famous series of musical-adventure films of cadets).
This year the range of genres has expanded. Among the projects the horror, fantasy, animation, films for family audiences, action movies, historical movies, melodramas, etc. Expands choice and within genres — in addition to traditional companies with already established projects, in the market there are new players.
— This is a good trend, because the niche of animation it’s a free and can play many movies. If they are high quality, the audience there is — kids will be able every weekend to watch a movie worthy Russian films, — said Ivanov.
However, on all projects, including feature-length animation, the cinema Fund will allocate 1 billion rubles.
— It’s just a disaster when compared with the budget of any Western animated film. This money can help only 3-4 high-level paintings, — says the expert.
Fortunately, the majority of producers see government support as only partial financial assistance and state budget accounting of sponsorship funds. According to Ivanov, the producers have a more responsible approach to the presentation of projects and all of the applicants this year — a major industry with established reputations.
The Director and the actress Svetlana Druzhinina, the author of the project “midshipmen 1787”, counting on the success in pitching and the support of the cinema Fund. The attention of the Director was drawn to the story of the battle of Kinburn.

— We remove the historical, artistic, military movie — said Druzhinin. Therefore, we did not budget for a small (about 280 million rubles). In addition, it is important for us to make if not the whole picture, then at least part to 2 October 2017 — to 230-summer anniversary of the battle of Kinburn.
