Experts have found the exact amount of rest needed

Employees of Durham University interviewed 18,000 people from 134 countries. They found that 68% of respondents needed the rest. 32% thought: they need more rest than the average person. And 10% thought that they required less rest compared to the rest.

The survey showed that leisure and subjective well-being were closely connected. On average, the least rested young people with high incomes. In addition, the lack of guests complained about people caring for children, elderly or sick people, as well as those who worked in shifts. According to scientists, the rest is not just sleep. By the way, earlier the experts found that meditation and vacation to help cope with stress. The study involved 94 healthy women aged 30 to 60 years. 64 participants meditated regularly. They were divided into 2 groups. Women held 6 days at a resort in California. Half just rested, and the rest attended a course of meditation. The remaining 30 participants had been concerned with meditation.

The experts assessed the changes in 20,000 genes. The scientists also collected blood samples and interviewed participants before, immediately after their stay in the resort, as well as the month and ten months later. The study showed that all women had been some changes at the genetic level. In particular, significantly changed the activity of genes related to stress response and immune system function.

Another member has increased the level of subjective well-being. The positive effect lasted up to one month. However, women who are on the resort began to meditate, stress levels and depression remained low much longer than those who just rested.
