On Monday, state Department spokesman John Kirby said that the United States cease the bilateral cooperation with Russia on truce in Syria and leave only military channels to avoid conflicts in the airspace ATS between Russian space forces and the U.S. air force. The Russian foreign Ministry, commenting on this decision, stated that it is a cause of deep disappointment. “Unfortunately, the military conflict of Russia and the US in Syria is possible. The more so because indirectly it has already happened: the Americans shelled and bombed units of the Syrian government troops, where our military advisers; the Russian side was bombed by terrorists, among whom were the Americans,” added Perendzhiev.
He believes that a global military conflict, and direct military confrontation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the United States in Syria will be avoided.
“If to speak about prospects of the situation, of course, serious. Still, I hope that direct military confrontation will not. At least two years ago developed a form of communication between Russia and the United States this is the case — the so-called red line, allowing high level to enter the operational conversation and defuse the explosive situation”, — said the military expert.
Russia has repeatedly stated that the choice of targets of the air strikes in Syria carefully verifies incoming intelligence information and only after that decides about the air attack. The previously unheard of accusations that Russia has allegedly strikes on civilian targets in Syria, also never found any evidence.
