To create the United armed forces of the European Union, each member countries must give their consent. The decision should only be taken by some States. This opinion was expressed by the British politician Paul Miller in an interview with RT.

“If Germany and France want to form a single army — please. But the European army — is another matter. If you want to create a United armed forces, including many countries, they must all give their consent. The desire of the two States that came up with this idea, not enough,” he told RT.

According to Miller, NATO is a good example of the joining of forces based on a common political position.

“NATO has proved that the effective use of joint forces based on a common political position. The activities of the army depends on the policy. States so-called European army to begin would develop a common foreign policy. Now it does not exist”, — he stressed.

On 16 September at the summit in Slovakia, France and Germany presented a plan for unification of the armed forces, and the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the EU intends to create a “private Fund defence research and investment to ensure its defence capability”.
