Expert buried Crimean ports: to haul cargo from Russia is expensive, in Russia is pointless

Эксперт похоронил крымские порты: возить грузы из России дорого, в Россию – бессмысленно

Transport by water of freight and passengers from the Black sea ports of Russia in the Crimea at the cost of more expensive the delivery trucks through the Kerch ferry. To import goods to Russia through the Crimean ports unprofitable traffic shoulder Novorossiysk is the same, but from the Crimea is the mark-up on transportation by ferry.

As the correspondent of NDNews.ru Chairman of the organizing Committee of the forthcoming IV Maritime business forum, Alexey Malko noted that major investment projects in Maritime transportation industry in the Crimea is not worth waiting.

“For large companies to enter the Crimea is not quite interesting, as it may lead to sanctions, he said. – While we have nothing of the global plans, and is actively developing the black sea and the Azov coast of the Taman Peninsula that are outside sanctions.”

In addition to sanctions, the expert called by reason of the downtime of the Crimean ports the high cost of delivery of goods both in domestic areas and abroad.

“Our ports are not developing due to logistics. The distance to Novorossiysk and of the Crimea to the Bosphorus is approximately the same. But from the Crimea, the goods need to drive via the ferry, and this increases their cost, said Malko. – The cost of shipping from Novorossiysk by sea to the Crimean port much more expensive than the cost of delivery via the ferry on the way, and the time periods are approximately the same. No one will carry and increase the value of their production”.

A similar situation, according to experts, is observed on the market of passenger transportation: ticket price for the boat from Novorossiysk to Feodosiya at times more pictures on the bus.

“Passenger transportation is effective only in holiday time and on short distances – from Yalta to the Swallow’s nest, for example,” says Malko.

Perspective for Maritime transport in the Crimea, the expert believes small projects in the domestic market, including the development of yachting. However, it is necessary to simplify the procedure of entry of yacht in sea ports.

“We need to reduce administrative barriers: customs and border service takes much longer than in other black sea countries. While almost all yachts under foreign flags, because customs clearance is 40% of the cost,” said Malko.

We will remind, from-for movements of heavy vehicles from the port “Crimea” highway collapse and deform the building in Kerch. With a permissible axle load of 12 tonnes on the Crimean roads trucks 40-50 or even 70 tons. In this case the railway stalls, and port facilities for the delivery of goods are practically not used.
