Estonia wants to host NATO troops on its territory on a permanent basis.
The head of the ruling Reform party, Prime Minister of Estonia Taavi Rõivas called for permanent presence of NATO troops in his country because of the aggressive Russia. According to him, therefore, possible opponents will have a powerful signal that you will always be able to get back.
On Sunday at a meeting of representatives of the party, the Estonian Prime Minister said that the ability to defend themselves and interacting with allies, need to be strengthened, because the security is “unstable and unpredictable”, and therefore, the external threats become a reality: “Russia is behaving as an aggressor is able to alter by force the boundaries for her international law – waste paper”.
“The presence of NATO troops is the new reality. It should increase not only as a strong political signal, but also as a means of improving the competitiveness of the domestic defense forces to repel any enemies,” he said.
