At least 7 people were killed, 16 injured as a result of arrival of the bus to a group of pilgrims in Himachal Pradesh in Northern India, said the state police.
A large group of pilgrims from the neighbouring state of Punjab stopped on the way to the famous Hindu Shrine, the temple of the goddess Chintpurni in the Kangra district to eat at a roadside cafe. In the bus traveling on the highway, suddenly brakes went out and he’s at full speed crashed into a crowd of vacationing people. It killed seven, and another 16 taken to a nearby hospital, three in critical condition.
The chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal expressed condolences to the bereaved families and said that they “will be given all possible assistance, and also paid monetary compensation”.
