Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to reduce spending on professional sports from the budgets of regions and state-owned companies. The head of state said at the presidential Council on development of physical culture and sports.
“I am convinced that financing of physical culture and mass sports should increase due to lower costs regions and companies with state participation on professional sports. That professionals can and must earn, we have said many times,” said Putin, whose words are quoted by “Interfax”.
The President instructed the government to analyze the costs of state-owned companies, and to make proposals and approve the plan before the end of the year.
The President also noted that “it’s supposed to work is phased, careful to destroy nothing, but rather to build”.
