Bhumibol Adulyadej – a native of the Chakri dynasty, he was born in 1927 in the USA, a year later, his family moved to Thailand, and then he went to study in Switzerland.
He took the throne in 1946, succeeding his brother, Rama VIII. During his reign in Thailand changed more than 20 Prime Ministers, was adopted 18 constitutions and has been 19 coups and none of them resulted in the removal Adulyadej.
In 2014 he supported changes to seize power of the military, headed by General prayuth Chan-OCHA.
