Autumn in the Kingdom is expected rich! By the beginning of the high season, the Thais made a lot of fun: lantern festival Loy Krathong, immortal, Full Moon Party, the memorial Day of King Rama V and other holidays.
We present you the schedule of the most interesting events of this autumn in Thailand.
The 18th international festival of music and dance (September 8 – October 19)
Location: Bangkok
In the Center of culture of Thailand 40 days will be one of the most impressive festivals of the capital. The event brought together artists from 11 countries with 17 shows. National acrobatic troupe of China, the Presidential Symphony orchestra of Turkey, and Musical theater. Stanislavsky and other world-renowned orchestras will present their programs.
14-16 September — Salak Yom
Location: Lamphun
Salak Yom traditional ethnic ceremony of Lamphun province. The descendants of immigrants from Myanmar are presented with in this day gifts to the monks: candles, incense, cases for glasses, bowls, robes, rosary beads. Gifts along with the flower garlands are hung on long poles of bamboo. It is noteworthy that in the ceremony Salak Yom involved exclusively women.
Full Moon Party (16 Sep, 17 Oct, 14 Nov)
Location: the island Koh Phangan
The world famous Full moon party on Koh Phangan, traditionally held monthly, will once again gather thousands of party people and best DJ’s in Haad Rin NOK.
Concert Adam Lambert (30 September )
Location: Bangkok, IMPACT Arena
The handsome actor and singer, rock legend, Adam Lambert will visit Bangkok! September 30, the singer will perform at IMPACT Arena with members of the legendary band Queen — Brian may and Roger Meddows-Taylor — as part of a tour with Queen + Adam Lambert op Tour 2016.
Vegetarian festival (1-9 October)
Location: throughout the country
One of the most shocking festivals in the world have traditionally satisfied throughout Thailand in November. The demonstrators show various ways of mortification: all kinds of pain, starvation, TRANS. The procession was escorted by street musicians and artists.
The day of commemoration of King Chulalongkorn (October 23)
Location: throughout the country
Thais revere not only the current and previous kings. Chulalongkorn, aka Rama V, was the grandfather of the current monarch Phumiphon Adulyadej. During the reign of the fifth king of the Chakri dynasty in Thailand abolished slavery, established diplomatic ties with important countries (including Russia), built a post and Telegraph paved the railroad. The Thai people with respect for the achievements of Rama V, and annually commemorates the monarch in the day of his death.
Scorpions concert (26 October)
Location: Bangkok, BITEC Bangna
Greatest artists of hard rock just for the day you’ll look in the capital of Thailand in the framework of the world tour. The Scorpions concerts are famous for the great show, quality sound and unbridled joy. Do not miss the performance in Bangkok!
A parade of Royal barges (November 9)
Location: Bangkok, chaophraya river
Impressively bright event: the procession of 52 barges, decorated in traditional Thai style, the main water artery of the capital — the chaophraya river. Lead a parade of four luxury barges, and the total length of the flotilla — more than a kilometer. In the action participate 2000 sailors. The procession will proceed down the river to Wat Arun for 55 minutes.
Loy Krathong (November 14 )
Location: throughout the country
Beautiful holiday in Thailand: on each river of the Kingdom on this day will sail hundreds of boats of banana leaves with flowers and candles. The ritual symbolizes forgiveness of sins and liberation from earthly hardships, and to the spirits of water the Thais put into each boat coin. It is believed that the launch of the boat on Loy Krathong purifies the soul and body.
Elephant festival (19-20 Nov)
Location: Surin
Holiday catching elephants is one of the most popular in northeast Thailand. The inhabitants of the province of Surin, one of the first tamed the giants that lived in the jungle near the border with Cambodia. At the festival the best trainers will demonstrate their skills: elephants playing soccer, juggling, dance, and of course, to carry logs. The festival ends with a Grand parade of animals.
