Developed a diet that may protect against Alzheimer’s disease

The diet includes 10 foods that support brain health: green leafy vegetables, other vegetables, nuts, berries, beans, whole grains, fish, poultry, olive oil and red wine.

It was found that adherence to such a diet helps to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s by 53%, if the person strictly follows the diet, and about 35% if people do not follow it so carefully, allowing indulgences.

Also in the MIND unhealthy diet lists the products which use should be avoided – red meat, butter and margarine, cheese, pastries and sweets, fried or fast food.

According to experts, diet MIND more simple than the Mediterranean diet, which requires daily consumption of fish and 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables. MIND diet includes 3 servings of whole grain foods, salad, one vegetable and a glass of wine every day.

At the same time to eat nuts and beans need about a day, poultry, and berries – about 2 times a week, fish at least once a week.

It is also allowed to eat at least 1 tablespoon of butter a day, and cheese, fried foods and fast food no more than once a week. Scientists say that such restriction of harmful products and helps to avoid negative effects on the brain of Alzheimer’s disease.
