The winners will be announced on 17 April 2017 in the framework of the new York auto show.
The organizers of the contest “world car of the year” (World Car of the Year, WCOTY) published a list of contenders for the title of best car in the world in 2017. For victory in competition will compete in 22 models.
Representatives WCOTY also said the list of contenders for victory in the categories “luxury car/sports car of the year” (13 models) and the “Green car of the year” (11 models). In addition, this year the competition introduced a new category — “car City” (World Urban Car). On this title claim eight models.
The jury will include about 70 automotive journalists from 20 countries. The winners will be announced on 17 April 2017 in the framework of the new York auto show.
The winner of the last competition was the Mazda Roadster MX-5. Best Executive car became “seven” BMW, sports car called the Audi R8 coupe, and the title of “Green car” went to hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai. The prize for the best design of the year was awarded to Mazda MX-5.
