The national team of Ukraine for a place in the World group of the Davis Cup will compete with the Japanese.
When the draw for the Ukrainians was asiandime potential rivals “blue-yellow” were the national teams of Switzerland, Belgium, Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Spain, Germany and Japan.
In the end, the draw against Ukraine chose Japan, a six – time participant of the World group and team, have at their disposal a tennis player from top 10 of the ATP ranking (kei nishikori).
In addition to Nishikori in Japan, only one tennis player in the top 100 of the ATP ranking – Yoshihito Nishioka is a 93-th row and Yuichi Sugita, Taro Daniel and ito of Tacoma are located on the approach to the first hundred. Ukraine meets three representatives in the top 100 – Alexander Dolgopolov, Ilya Marchenko and Sergey Stahovsky.
The match Japan – Ukraine will take place on 16-18 September. Place conducting meetings, game coverage and other details, the hosts of the meeting, the Japanese will be announced shortly.
For Ukraine, the match against Japan will be the fourth attempt to break into the elite Davis Cup. Earlier, the Ukrainians have lost to Belgium (2009, 2:3), Spain (2013, 0:5) and Belgium (2014, 2:3).
