Daniel Craig did not agree on the role of bond, even for a huge fee.
Lately, Daniel Craig has admitted in an interview that the contract with film Studio MGM, which produces films about James bond, and looks forward to the expiry of its validity.
However, the leadership of the Studio is not responsible to him in return – Daniel really even like them in the role of legendary agent 007. To delay the breakup with the actor they chose with the astronomical fee – for shooting the next two films about James bond, as well as for the position of producer, Daniel Craig was offered 68 million pounds (about 100 million dollars).
For comparison – in employment in all four pictures (“Casino Royale”, “quantum of solace”, “007: Coordinates “Skayfoll” and “007: Spectrum”), the actor earned 38 million pounds. But even despite such a tempting offer, the actor answered with a resounding “no”
“Daniel has done with this project, honestly and simply. He announced his decision to the heads of MGM Studio right after finishing filming “spectre”. They offered him huge money, but he was no longer interested in this project. After the shooting, he told everyone that it was his final work in the James bond films. But the producers decided to give him a break after “Spectrum”, hoping he will come around,” the insider told the Daily Mail.
It is also reported that further entreaties from the producers refused because already tired of the endless criticism of Daniel new parts of the James bond in an interview. Craig did not hesitate even expressions like “I’d rather break both wrists than agree to star in the sequel”.
“I tried to get away from it from the beginning, but they didn’t let me go and I had to sign a contract for another two films. Business is business. Let’s see what will be the rentals this part. If something goes wrong, I will gladly break the contract”, – said Daniel last year.
