Optimistic indicators for early booking prepaid hotels of Crimea, which has grown by 15%, gave the reasons for revision of forecast the tourist authorities of the Republic.
The Crimea can visit more than 4.9 million as planned at the end of 2015 and around 6 million tourists.
“At the end of 2015 we planned that in 2016 Crimea will be visited by 4.9 million tourists. In January-February we had not kept pace with 2015, it was connected primarily with the fact that tour operators and tourists did not understand the issues of energy saving in Crimea”, — said Sergey Strelbitsky, the Minister of tourism and resorts of Crimea. According to him, the situation with the tourist flow was normalized by March, when the number of tourists not only rooted, but also “ahead” in the number of tourists last year.
“For the period may-August 2016 the number of early bookings with a prepayment exceeds the actual sales for the same period last year, an average of 20%. Therefore, based on these indicators, this year we expect to host 6 million tourists”, — said Sergey strelbitskiy.
Only provided data since the beginning of the year the Crimea was visited by 203 thousand tourists, an increase is 2.2%. The occupancy rate of hotels of Crimea is equal to 28%.
