Country and we

This article is addressed primarily to the older generation, those who haven’t “heard” about the Soviet regime, not “read about it on the Internet or listened to Mammy stories”, and lived at the time, who found the USSR of adult formed man.

To you I speak, peers and compatriots.

We all remember the putsch, the events of 1991 and the subsequent collapse of the Soviet Union.

Many of us curse for these events, Gorbachev and his liberal supporters, calling them the main culprits of the disaster.

It would be foolish to remove their responsibility for the great tragedy that happened to the Soviet Union. They are to blame. But only if they are?

I wonder how many of you thought about the obvious, a well-known fact:

– Why the putsch didn’t shoot? Why are these people Orthodox Soviet and party leaders, sincerely hated Gorbachev and his reforms, did not press the trigger?

Why, for all their hatred of Gorbachev, head of Mikhail Sergeyevich did not fall any hair? Why are these people, who were able to take to the streets of soldiers and military equipment, abandoned all violence? Why the “coup”, as immediately began to call the events of August 1991 turned out to be velvet, bloodless? Why didn’t he cost the lives of people who took to the streets, ie you and I? The price of those events – 3 (three!) human life, and those was given not on the barricades and in the underpass under the wheels of military vehicles, which drivers you were horrified of what happened?

This is not an idle or rhetorical questions. Over the past 25 years we have understood what real coup. Just two years after these events, in Moscow, at the White House, exactly where once stood our ardently naive and stupid “defenders of democracy” broke out a real war, with tanks and armored personnel carriers with machine gunners and snipers, with hundreds dead and wounded. And the famous Rutskoi and Khasbulatov survived if not because of the humanity of Yeltsin, but only because they did not get out of the tank, because the time had the sense to surrender and lay down their weapons.

If everything written is not entirely clear, I’ll ask anyway:

Why “bloody power” went without bloodshed and without violence? And why a new, just and humane democratic government filled with blood Moscow in a similar situation just two years?

It is not necessary to say that “the Soviet system and the leaders of the CPSU rotted and decomposed”. It is not necessary to calm itself, trite cliches about the fact that the emergency Committee gathered political impotent and losers, led by a trembling Anavim. All of this is foolishness. Because in addition to Yanayev, this Committee consisted of Marshal Yazov – a career, professional soldier, the last of the second world war, and KGB Chairman Kryuchkov, who because of position and because of the nature of a brand was not inclined to the sentiments and the nozzle. Quite the contrary! It was impenetrable the man, the machine for making any decisions, if they were appropriate! In those years, such positions do not fall a wimp. And there were Pugo, Chairman of the Committee of party control. For those who do not know, PDA has been the reserve of fanatical Communists from the Stalin era. And Pugo and his predecessor’she was a people for whom there were no values higher than the Soviet regime. Even when in a party environment began to grow negative effects and has to be frustrated and tired, the CCP was still soldered and mobile, as always, and his authority was unquestioned. And therefore included Boris Karlovich in the composition of the emergency Committee.

It’s possible that to save the Soviet Union have been impossible. But why these people who already had nothing to lose and who had not the slightest doubt in the person of Yeltsin and his accomplices in the coup, at least not “took the soul”, not designed for last with the traitors from the heart? Why B. K. Pugo was strong enough to quietly put a bullet in the head, but not strong enough to shoot people? In us?

Why not Unscrew the head of Gorbachev?

If these issues are still unclear – ask yourself what would happen to Yanukovich, getting it into the hands of Poroshenko and co.? Remember the blood on the streets of Moscow, Kiev, Tbilisi and many other cities of the former Soviet Union, where in similar circumstances the blood flowed in streams?

No Yazov, neither Hooks nor buttons, nor the other “conspirators” were afraid of nothing! Except for one thing – to SHED the BLOOD of his people! They were not sorry. They knew what was going on.

Do not think that these words the author is trying to create the members of the emergency Committee the halo of saints and martyrs. They were neither saints nor martyrs. They were the last line of the Soviet Government, with its mistakes and achievements, successes and failures. They were the LAST LEADERS in the modern history of Russia, who knew the value of human life! And therefore are unable to take it! His – able! And our – no!

How many of you thought about this? How many people realize today that it appear in place of the putsch Yeltsin and Gaidar and Chubais – all these toy naive barricades and barriers around the White House would be within the hour littered with our corpses without the slightest pity and that none of them would never be able to shoot in the event of the failure of the coup, escaped instead in the US?

How many people realize today that in 1991 we, stupid fools unarmed, just took pity and decided to leave, without depriving us of life?

And how many people think today that, with all my soul resisting any attempts by the new Swamp area, any attempt to organize in Russia “Maidan”, we, in fact, redeem his eternal guilt to himself and his country a quarter century ago ditched their own hands?

Ask yourself honestly:

If you were to repeat today the events of those years, many of you, today, took to the streets and squares to “defend democracy”?

Asked?

Said?

So you figured out who really destroyed the country.

And that we should tell our children about the Soviet Union and ourselves.

And who is to blame whenever we have something really do not like today.

And in the future too.
