Chronic stress can lead to infertility

Хронический стресс может привести к бесплодию At the University of Ohio (Ohio State University), USA, conducted research on the relationship between chronic stress in women and infertility

Information that stress is one of the key factors of reproductive disorders in women, has been voiced in some similar studies, but these conjectures have not been properly recorded in accordance with all requirements of evidence-based medicine.

A similar study was conducted in the UK and thanks to his results failed to prove that the constant stress significantly reduces a woman’s ability to conceive, however a direct link between stress and the risk of infertility, as such, has not been studied.

University in Ohio (Ohio State University) for the study were invited 500 women of child-bearing age (18 to 40 years). They are all in varying degrees, suffered from reproductive disorders. Women continued participating in the study for 12 months or until pregnancy.

The level of stress experienced, all the participants were under the constant supervision of researchers. The subjects were regularly tested for blood levels of alpha-amylase and cortisol – markers of stress.

In the result, it was proven that women are constantly high content of alpha-amylase in the blood, i.e. constantly experiencing stress, 2 more at risk of developing infertility.

This study provided interesting material, both for the patients and their supervising physicians in the family planning centers. Now it is known that the reduction of stress, which is undergoing a woman, helps to avoid problems of infertility or to cope with existing disorders of the reproductive sphere.
