The interest in Russian arms is growing on the background of the conflicts in the middle East, a portfolio of orders of Rosoboronexport reached $ 48 billion. This was stated by the CEO of the state Corporation “rostec” Sergey Chemezov in interview to “Kommersant”, published on Friday, June 3.

“More recently, our order portfolio stood at $ 45 billion, and now $ 48 billion”, — said Chemezov, adding that currently, the annual volume of deliveries by Rosoboronexport exceeds $ 13 billion annually, and together with other businesses over $ 15 billion.

The head of “Rosteh” expressed confidence that the volume of orders for Russian weapons will continue to grow. “After all, military equipment tend over time to come into disrepair, needed to be replaced. Also there are factors that dictate the need to return to military procurement. Where war and armed conflicts, there will always be a demand for weapons,” he said.

Chemezov also said that it was not planned to conclude with the Iran contracts on the supply of offensive weapons such as tanks T-90 and su-30CM, due to the sanctions by the UN security Council. According to him, the supply will be limited to defensive weapons, particularly air defense systems.

Speaking of supply in China’s newest anti-aircraft missile systems s-400, Chemezov noted that it will be possible not earlier than in 2018. “We have a rule: first, the supply service of the army, and then sell weapons abroad. Many customers asked us to supply the ordered weapons before, but we will warn them about the timing and priority”, — said the head of Rostec.

May 18, Director of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation Alexander Fomin said that Russia has no plans to put tanks and fighter jets to Iran, because these weapon platforms fall under international restrictions.

S-400 “Triumph” — multi-channel long-range air defense missile system, with several types of missiles of various ranges. According to the manufacturer, the s-400 is capable of hitting all available means of air attack, including aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and tactical ballistic missiles with maximum speeds up to 4.8 kilometers per second.

Launch customer of the s-400 system is China, he in the fall of 2014 bought six divisions in excess of three billion dollars.
