Perhaps all Soviet people knew the story of the miraculous rescue of “Chelyuskin”.
Heroic journey of the ship “Chelyuskin”, which was developing a scheme of delivery of cargoes along the Northern sea route for one summer navigation has begun in the summer of 1933. But the circumstances were such that after 8 months the ship was crushed by huge blocks of ice. The crew descended on the nearest ice floe and was rescued by Soviet pilots.
