The conflagration spread to 18 square miles

California authorities on September 27 ordered to evacuate hundreds of residents in connection with a forest fire, stepping into the residential zones in the Northern districts of the state – Santa Cruz and Santa Clara.
According to recent data, the element of fire has spread to 18 square miles, firefighters were able to extinguish the most part of fire, the fire also threatens 163 residential homes and buildings. Over the past two days has burned dozens of homes and 16 outbuildings.
The fire service said that the regime of mandatory evacuation lifted in district of Santa Cruz, but continues to operate in the County of Santa Clara. To fight with fire in Santa Clara arrived some 200 members of the fire service, as well as ten units of air equipment.
It is expected that firefighters will be able to put out a forest fire in the beginning of next week, the newspaper said.
