A British exit from the EU will have a negative impact not only on the British economy, but also on the Union, experts say. The newspaper “Times” found out how badly damaged the “purse” of the EU from losing such a significant member.
The so-called “hard” scenario of the exit of the British from the EU in which the UK will burn previously established “economic bridges” with Europe, envisages that London will come from the single market. The Europeans have every year to kick in $ 13 billion additional pounds as customs duties. Net fees from UK companies, in this case, will be about five billion pounds.
It is important to note that the duties on exports to the UK in almost every country of the European Union will be higher than the corresponding figures for the British. Thus, it appears that the Europeans will lose somewhere at eight billion pounds more than the British. To such conclusions experts have come, having studied the data presented by the Institute for studies of civil society “Civitas”.
We should not forget that the Brits will not be in the most favorable light. However, to retain the usual place on the EU market, the UK will have to forget about full independence and leave their borders open.
