Minsk will not let the citizens of Ukraine for a new passport.
The passport of citizen of Ukraine in the form of an ID card is not considered as a valid document for crossing the border of Belarus, said on Saturday the press service of the state border Committee of Belarus.
“Ukrainian citizens mistakenly expect to enter the territory of Belarus by these new electronic documents. Under the current bilateral agreement between countries from 2009 on visa-free trips of citizens of the new Ukrainian passport in the form of an ID card is not provided as a document for crossing the state border of the Republic of Belarus”, – stated in the message.
“In addition, the Ukrainian side is still not initiated Ministerial procedures on the recognition data of the ID card as a valid document for crossing the border under a visa-free travel”, – added in the state border Committee.
In this regard, the border Committee noted that to resolve these issues the Belarusian side may pass through boundary of citizens of Ukraine only with the valid documents: passports (ID card) and internal passports of the old sample (in paper form).
Recall that the internal passport of the new sample in the form of a plastic ID card introduced in Ukraine from 1 January 2016.
The replacement of existing passports-new books on passport – ID card will last for about 4 years. At this time will be valid as a passport of the old sample card. Forced replacement at some time.
As previously reported, for the first day of issuance of passports of citizen of Ukraine in electronic form was designed about 100 passports of the new sample.
