Beijing motor show: BAIC unveiled an electric supercar Arcfox-7

At the motor show in Beijing Corporation Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation (BAIC) has launched a new electric supercar called Arcfox-7.

Inspired by the style of Formula E, sports car, developed in Barcelona, is expected to go on sale in China at the end of this year.

Its mission is to become the top model of the new line of electric cars BAIC brand, starting with a tiny electric SUV with an open top Arxfox-1.

Supercar Arcfox-7 is equipped with a 6.6-kilowatt battery, the supply 603-horsepower electric motor. To stop a car weighing 1 755 kg, the automaker equipped it with carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear.

According to the statement, BAIC, Arcfox-7 can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in less than 3.0 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. For comparison, the most powerful version of the Tesla Model S — P90 D does it in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

Reportedly, the Chinese sports car can travel on one battery charge 300 km, far less than the 510-mile range of the Tesla.

The exterior of the Arcfox-7 is reminiscent of the BMW i8 and features an electric super car — led headlights and the doors “gull-wing”. Drivers a selection of driving modes: Economy, Comfort or Race, each of which regulates the height of the clearance.

According to unconfirmed reports, the car is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, without which the engine will not start, four-point safety belts and a digital instrument panel.
