China’s intention to deepen strategic cooperation with Russia will not change even in case of changes in the international situation, said Friday the Vice-Premier Liu Yandong at the meeting with speaker of the Russian state Duma Sergei Naryshkin in Shenzhen.
Government officials participate in the groundbreaking ceremony in Shenzhen a memorial stone at the place where will be built the main set of joint University Moscow state University and Beijing Polytechnic Institute.
“In the complicated and variable international environment, Chinese President XI Jinping and Russian representatives had made of the immutability in Russian-Chinese relations,” said Liu Yandong.
“It means: no matter how the international situation may change, we will not change the intention to strengthen and deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation and will not change our intention to seek joint development and prosperity, to defend international justice, peace and stability around the world,” she said.
According to her, the Chinese side is looking forward to the next visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China in June.
“Against this background, today’s event is quite symbolic and is of great importance, because it serves as a good preparation to the forthcoming visit of President Putin to China,” said Deputy Prime Minister.
In her opinion, today’s event will play a positive role in the development of Russian-Chinese relations.
In turn, Naryshkin pointed out that today’s event marks a new stage in the development of cooperation in education and exchanges.
“I am confident that the joint University will study the best representatives of the Russian, Chinese youth, students from other countries and this project will surely become one of the flagships of the strategic partnership between our two countries and peoples”, — said the speaker of the lower house of the Russian Parliament
