Flagship sedan of the brand will debut in 2017.
In a publication Motor1 appeared the first spy pictures of the sedan Audi A8 new generation. Car, hidden camo, photographed during road tests in Austria and Germany.
Judging by the pictures, the exterior of the sedan will be executed in stylistics of the concept car prologue, presented in the fall of 2014. From the car of the current generation, the novelty will differ, first and foremost, a different front grille and narrower headlights.
The sedan will be built on a modular platform MLB Evo, which already formed the basis of the Q7 SUV and A4 sedan new generation. Through the use of lightweight construction materials weight, compared to the previous generation model, will be reduced.
What kind of motors will be available for the new sedan is still unknown. It is not excluded that the range will include six-litre W12 unit with a capacity of 600 horsepower from the SUV, the Bentley Bentayga, and also eight-cylinder diesel engine 4.0 with a triple boost on the Audi SQ7 develops 435 horsepower.
The list of equipment will include a fully digital instrument panel and autopilot. According to the head of Audi Rupert Stadler, the new A8 will be “the world’s first production car with a new drone control”. The sedan will be able to maneuver in urban traffic jams and highway speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour.
The public Premier of Audi A8 new generation will take place or in September at the Frankfurt motor show or in March 2017 at the Geneva motor show.
