St. Petersburg photographer Evgeny Tsvetkov’s only 21, but he was concerned about global problems of mankind.
His photo project “Your Face Is Big Data”, which means “your face — a large database”, the author wants to draw public attention to the issue of security on the Internet.
The idea for the project is extremely simple. Eugene was just taking pictures of strangers in the subway, who was sitting opposite him. Then by using a free service FindFace he was looking for in social media profiles of strangers have taken them.
While all the photos were taken in poor lighting, the program is quite accurately able to track down the accounts of almost all of the people shown in the photo! This means that virtually any person can find with just a picture and find out all the information that he kindly pointed in their data.
“With this project I showed that the end of anonymity has already arrived. With the development of technology to establish the identity of the person can not only authorities, but also by anyone”, — says Eugene.
