The producers of the film “Stephen”, dedicated to the singer and former frontman of The Smiths, Morrissey, found the actor for the lead role. The rock star will play a British Jack Louden, reports Deadline.
“Steven” tells of a young Morrissey and how in 1982 he founded The Smiths with guitarist johnny Marr. According to producer Oriana Williams, the film allows a glimpse into the minds of the young Steven Patrick Morrissey and learn what inspired his work both in group and solo shows.
Director “Stephen” will be debutant mark Gill. He also wrote the script of the film in collaboration with William Makerom.
Jack Louden has received the Olivier award for his work in the theater. Known for his roles in the historical drama “71” and the mini-series BBC “War and peace”, where he played Nikolai Rostov. Louden is also considered a contender for the lead role in the new film by Christopher Nolan “Dunkirk”.
