Scientists have identified the proteins that indicate the condition of the liver and brain, and focused on detection of markers of prostate, breast and lung.
English physician created the device that allows to identify a number of diseases for several years before the onset of their symptoms. Dr. hood President Institute for systems biology in Seattle, told us about his invention to the Royal society of medicine in London. The invention analyzes the blood levels of 2,5 thousand proteins and thus controls the state about 50 key organs and tissues.
Dr. hood wanted to combine all the knowledge about changes in proteins, genetic material and cells with low-cost diagnostic methods that would work on the microarray and allowed to track the state of human health. If the fingerprint of protein in the blood sample is changing rapidly, it signals the development of the disease. Early diagnosis of “silent killers” like cancer and other diseases, which often manifest themselves in the initial stages, can significantly increase a patient’s chances of survival.
The imperfection of the existing methods based on the detection in the blood of molecules, directly pointing to the disease, is that many of these markers are produced by several agencies, so it is sometimes difficult to understand the meaning of revealed changes. Researchers working with Dr. Evil, make a list of 2.5 thousand of the most common proteins, the observation of which will be carried out with the help of the microchip.
