The head of fraction of LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky has called for the resignation of the head of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RCC), Vladimir Lukin.

On 7 August the head of the International Paralympic Committee Philip Craven declared the decision to remove all Russians from participation in the Paralympic games in 2016, as well as membership in the organization of the Paralympic Committee of Russia.
