Захарова оценила предстоящее голосование по поводу России в Венето

The official representative the Ministry of foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said that the vote in the Italian region Veneto, regarding the lifting of sanctions with Russia testifies to the failure of anti-Russian propaganda in the West their goals.

“And the vote on the resolution to the regional Council of Veneto, and other political processes, such as public opinion polls, the referendum in the Netherlands – all shows that the process of anti-Russian propaganda in the context of Ukraine has not so much stalled, how many starts to spin in the opposite direction and to work against those who launched it. This is only the beginning,” said Maria Zakharova in an interview with “Izvestia”.

“Several factors: the Syrian crisis, the General situation in the Middle East and North Africa, the situation with Ukraine, the U.S. intervention in the internal Affairs of not only Ukraine, but also in the internal Affairs of European countries – all of this creates a completely different picture of the future of Europe,” she added.

And on this background there was a “loss of European sovereignty in foreign policy”.

We will remind, on Wednesday, the Parliament of the Italian province of Veneto will consider the resolution on recognition of Crimea and the lifting of sanctions against Russia.

The initiators of the introduction of the document were 25 parliamentarians, among them three leaders of the largest factions of the Venetian Parliament: Nikola Finko (“Northern League”), Silvia Risotto (“List Jaya”) and Massimiliano Barison (“go Italy!”). Just a Venetian Parliament 51 MPs.

The authors of the resolution point to the double standards of the EU and the international community in approaches to the situation in Crimea. Also, the draft resolution contains key figures concerning the economic losses of the EU (3.6 billion euros) and Italy from the decline in exports to Russia as a result of the sanctions imposed.

The Governor of the Veneto Luca ZAIA from the very beginning of the emergence of tension in relations with Russia due to the Ukrainian crisis spoke out against the sanctions.

As stated by the newspaper VIEW political analyst Alexei Martynov, the vote of the regional Parliament of Venice on the recognition of the reunification of the Crimea with Russia and calling for the abolition of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union has great symbolic value, and endangers the so-called “European solidarity”.

In Crimea 16 March 2014 a referendum was held on the status of autonomy, more 96% of participants who were in favour of joining region in Russia. 21 Mar 2014 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of the agreement on joining of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia and signed the decree about formation of the Crimean Federal district.
