Work is work

The AUTHOR – Sergey Aleksashenko, the economist

A remarkable statement was made by the Chairman of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, “would observers be 4.5 million people… if the party with them good job, they could come not only to vote, but also to watch….But can’t Pamfilova or CEC, excuse all of us, we have to answer for their work. But for the voter, the observer we can’t do the job.”

I’m sorry, Ella, it’s my job, as a citizen, as a voter, is to pay taxes, which You and Your colleagues in the election commissions across the country pay salaries and bonuses, to come to the polling station and vote; and only Your job to ensure fair elections. Or at least for a start a fair vote count.

Observers – these are people who are willing to sacrifice their time and strength to help You. But it is not their JOB, it is their desire to make the country better and fairer. And do not accuse people that they are not in sufficient numbers came to the polling station to observe how Your colleagues falsifiziert the results of the vote.

Because, if you stand on Your position, the protection of public order should not be engaged in police and self-defense units. And education of children can not do the public schools, and parents, giving their children a high school diploma and taking the exam. After all this – and the counting of votes at elections, and the protection of public order, and secondary education is the functions of the state for the execution of which we, the taxpayers, pay the salaries of doctors, teachers, police officers and policemen, and members of election commissions. And You personally!

Work is work. If You agreed to become Chairman of the CEC, You must understand what You will encounter in the workplace. If You can’t handle this job because You prevent someone – tell me who. If You interfere with the rules of law, make proposals for change. But if You just don’t have the strength to resist the bureaucratic system, then leave to retire and do not blame other people that they didn’t want to do is You.
