Washington Post: Putin and trump will divide the world according to Russian rules

Washington Post: Путин и Трамп поделят мир по российским правилам

Foreign policy model of Russian President Vladimir Putin is very close to Donald Trump, says Washington Post columnist Jackson Diehl. He argues that, once in power, the Republican candidate is able to share with Russia the whole world into zones of influence.

That is only Putin has far more experience, and trump in comparison, Amateur. Therefore, the Russian power will increase, and the us — will decrease, he warns.

Trump and Putin are the same “nihilistic” approach to international relations, and together they could change our world, says the author of the Washington Post Jackson Diehl.

According to observers, the Russian President is actively and successfully used lies to achieve geopolitical goals. He pursued and killed his opponents in the capitals of other countries, invaded the neighboring States, both overtly and covertly”, “interfered in the elections of other countries” and “contemptuous of the rules of international trade and sport. For the most part he got away with it, writes DIL.

And actually other regimes, the author notes, began to act the same model of lawlessness and hypocrisy”. So, noticing that one of the main opponents of Putin, Alexander Litvinenko was killed in London, China began to kidnap dissidents from abroad: for example, in the centre of Hong Kong grabbed a British citizen.

To explain the developments in the international arena, Putin successfully puts one in a series “shameless fraud” and documented the lighting, writes Jackson Diehl. For example, Moscow says it is controlled by Putin and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was removed from office by U.S. intelligence agents, not the Ukrainian people. And five years ago, Hillary Clinton somehow managed to order in a mass anti-Putin demonstrations in Moscow.

Perhaps, the author suggests that Putin himself believes in these lies or believes that it is no different from the stories that imposes Western. In any case, he managed to create an alternate reality. There is a world familiar to the West, and there is also a world of Vladimir Putin. Viewers of foreign TV channels can do to make a choice.

Other regimes are learning that, too. Thanks to the Internet and satellite TV now more than ever before, the world is flooded by conspiracy theories, which support the authorities, most of these theories are anti-American, said the Washington Post.

The US has a secret plan to divide Egypt into pieces, said the regime of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. But Erdogan does not agree, because now America is too busy: she’s sponsoring a military coup in Turkey. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is convinced that all this is nonsense, because the U.S. is planning a military coup to oust him.

Despite political partisanship, America still managed to avoid such “pathologies” writes Diehl. But then came trump. He suggests the author may not be able to compete with Putin for the violence, but his undisguised sympathy for the fraud, cynicism and immoral pursuit of immediate interests, “the purest expression of Putinism in America.”

The question arises: how will the world look like, if they’re both trump and Putin will be in power?

If trump becomes President, says deal, the US will remain supporters, and will be, as in Russia, only clients. The message from Washington for Estonia will echo Moscow warning to Belarus: pay for the support of a superpower or be abandoned.

Like Putin, trump create a global reality, and the lie of Russia and the USA may in some matches: trump and Putin will argue that in Ukraine there are no Russian troops, although the Ukrainians will kill almost every day. And then the truth will protect Sweden, writes Jackson Diehl.

Very likely, the author suggests that the trump will fulfill the cherished desire of Putin along with the us President to divide the world into spheres of influence. For several countries of Eurasia and the Middle East the result will be catastrophic: Putin invited trump to conquer the Ukraine and Georgia, as well as, perhaps, Egypt and Jordan, and that, quite probably, will agree.

Trump definitely underestimates the brutality of Putin and knows nothing about his concept of a zero-sum game between Russia and the United States, says Jackson Diehl. 15* years in power, Putin has mastered the “art of deceit, betrayal, sabotage and tactical aggression.” But trump, the author notes, in comparison, Amateur. So in a world where you will rule Putin and trump, not only will prevail “immoral state”, but the Russian influence will increase to the detriment of America.
