The house is located in Nha Trang, in Central Vietnam, surrounded by beautiful ocean and mountains.
Space in size 277 square metres was designed by architects Vo Trong Nghia Architects and ICADA. The client wanted a big house with a garden, so on the roof put a variety of trees and plants.
The local building code, however, demanded that the roof was slanted, and 50 percent of its area covers grey or orange tiles. To comply with this rule it was divided into parallel alternating stripes. Under part of a tiled living room, dining room and bedroom, while the service rooms are located under the area of greenery, where ceiling height is limited due to the deep soil layers at the top.
The building is part of a serial project called “house for trees”. The roof garden is more like an infrastructure or a small Park, open to the neighbors. In the shade of the trees inhabitants can enjoy the views and natural elements.
