UN: Donbas residents do not have enough meat and vegetables

From living on the uncontrolled territories of Kiev Donbass people have problems with access to a number of food products. This is evidenced by the results of a study of the world food programme (UN), who leads the Department temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

It is noted that the greatest need experience in meat products. “In particular, there is no beef, pork and poultry. In addition, due to mined areas of certain territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions inhabitants of the private sector can’t grow vegetables (potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beets and onions), which affects the quality of nutrition of the local population”, — is spoken in information.

The Ministry noted that citizens who live along the boundary line in the uncontrolled territories of Kiev, have access to the following food commodities: rice, pasta, buckwheat, bread, dairy products, eggs, sunflower oil, sugar, sausage.

Armed confrontation between Ukrainian security forces and militias self-proclaimed republics of Donbass lasts from April 2014. According to the latest UN data, during the fighting in Eastern Ukraine killed 9 thousand person and 553 22 137 thousand were injured. About 2 thousand victims were civilians.
