The Ukrainian bid won the fight for the right to organize the world championship in Division IA.
At the Congress of the International Federation of hockey Ukraine with a minimal advantage of the votes ahead of Austria.
“Our application was supported by other participating countries, as well as members of the IIHF Council. Thus, 22-28 April next year the competition will take Kiev”, – said the President of ice hockey Federation of Ukraine Anatoly Brezvin.
In April of the following year the national team of Ukraine for a place in the elite of world hockey will compete with Kazakhstan, Hungary, Austria, Poland and South Korea. Ukrainian hockey players on the ice will try for the first time since 2007 back in the Top division.
In 2011 Kiev has already taken the world championship in Division IA – then the national team of Ukraine took the third place and could not rise in class. In 2013 it was the turn of Donetsk, which became the hockey capital of the country – “blue-yellow” has won the Division IB and returned to the group A.

We will remind, in April the national team of Ukraine led by Alexander Savitsky in the fight for a place in Division IA teams toured the UK, Lithuania, Croatia, Estonia and Romania.
