Restrictive measures against Moscow “has had minimal impact on the military policy of Russia”.
The defence Committee of the British Parliament urged the government to expand the list of representatives of the Russian authorities, in respect of which should be sanctioned. This is stated in the Committee’s report, published on Tuesday, July 5.
Although sanctions have caused Russia economic damage, “they did not reduce further Russian military intervention,” reads the report. It States that restrictive measures “have had a minimal influence on the military policy of Russia”.
The document contains a recommendation to “contribute to the renewal of EU sanctions against Russia and to consider their extension due to the increase of a group of individuals from the leadership of the country.” Parliamentarians supported the extension of restrictive measures against Moscow imposed in connection with the conflict in Ukraine.
