Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov admitted that even in 2014 knows that the Western partners won’t help Ukraine, even in the case of a direct invasion on the territory of Ukraine the Russian armed forces. He told about it in interview to Agency UNIAN.
“I made it clear that if the Russian armed forces invaded the territory of continental Ukraine, we will not be able to provide military assistance”, – said Turchinov.
Also the NSDC Secretary recalled that in 2014, the Western partners recommended that the Ukrainian authorities “not saber-rattling, not to mobilize and not to provoke Russia”, and in return they promised to influence Moscow through diplomatic methods.
Turchynov now claims credit that his submission began the first wave of mobilization in Ukraine, created a new kind of armed forces – the National guard, and began to form volunteer battalions in the interior Ministry. The conviction Turchynov, such measures, as well as the movement of troops from West to East of Ukraine has halted the so-called “Russian aggression”.
