Travel company Expedia found out who the European travellers willing to try the local cuisine during foreign travel, and who is not inclined to such actions. About it writes The Daily Mail on Thursday, may 19.
The experts surveyed 14 thousand people from 14 European countries. According to the results of the study, the Spaniards and the Italians topped the ranking of the most brave travelers: 94% of respondents from these States try the local dishes during your vacation abroad.
Three leaders closes France (91 per cent), the same figure for Switzerland. Austria is ranked fifth in the ranking with a score of 89 percent.
The top 10 list also includes Norway, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland. The last, 14th place in the list went to the UK — only 57 percent of tourists from the United Kingdom willing to try abroad the local food.
The survey was conducted by Expedia in the framework of the campaign “Europe on the plate” designed to help the residents of this part of the world to broaden culinary knowledge and to acquaint them with hitherto unknown dishes.
In April, travel service, TripAdvisor has selected the best gourmet tours in the world. The top 10 list — routes in Portugal, Mexico, Spain, Japan, Australia, Greece, as well as two trips to the USA and the UK.
