Anomalous heat this summer, postponed it is hard, even at sea.
Hot asphalt of the big cities making the trip to work in a real test — but it’s all the toys, compared to some really hot places on the planet. The study of variations of maximum temperatures are now engaged in two NASA satellite equipped with MODIS Spectroradiometer: this year, they presented their top spots, each of which can be considered a true branch of hell on Earth.
1. Dallol
Ethiopia
Once there was a settlement of miners, extracting minerals. Now Dallol is a Ghost town, where no hurry to wander even animals. Volcanic activity has transformed this place into a real hell: the annual average temperature here is 35 degrees Celsius.
2. Coober Pedy
Australia
Here is so hot that locals prefer to move under the earth: 37 degrees even in the shade. The charm of the place give seasonal dust storms, which will not save even an underground shelter.
3. El Azizia
Libya
In the last few years, scientists are unable to accurately measure the average annual temperature in al ‘ azīzīyah — for obvious reasons. However, in the past temperatures have shown consistently, hovering at 48 degrees Celsius.
4. Wadi Halfa
Sudan
Located on the border of Egypt, this Sudanese city has seen a temperature of 49 degrees. In addition, local people have more fear and violent sand storms, during which the storm activity grows significantly.
5. Tirat Zvi
Israel
Located 400 meters below sea level at Beth Shean, Tirat Zvi is famous for its warm weather. In June 1942, there were recorded the highest temperature ever officially existed in Asia — 53 degrees Celsius.
6. Timbuktu
Mali
Located at the crossroads of ancient trade routes across the Sahara desert, Timbuktu has gradually become one of the hottest places on the planet. Last year I had passed the mark of 54 degrees Celsius.
7. Ghadames
Libya
The object of UNESCO world heritage site of Ghadames is a city-oasis located in the middle of the desert. In order to survive the constant heat (55 degrees Celsius), the local people have to spend most of the day in homes with thick Adobe walls.
8. Kebili
Tunisia
It is believed that Kebili was founded almost 200 thousand years ago. That caravans came here in search of cool water and rest is now the same temperature in Kebili often passes for 56 degrees.
9. Flamin Mountain
China
The majestic mountain of red Sandstone is considered to be the hottest spot in all of China. A NASA satellite equipped with MODIS meteorological system, recorded a record temperature of 66 degrees Celsius.
10. Wasteland
Australia
To carry out continuous measurements in the Australian Outback quite difficult, but this sparsely populated region is known for its sultry nature, manifested in periods of drought. Record Heaths set last year: a NASA satellite has reported on measurements at 70 degrees.
