To relax and not go broke: secrets to cheap holiday in Europe

Отдохнуть и не разориться: секреты дешевого отпуска в ЕвропеThe main secrets of budget travel.

Relax in Europe for a penny – really.

The journalist of the program “Paragraph!” Masha Sebov told how to budget travel across the EU.

Traveler shared his experience on how to save money on entertainment in expensive capitals of Europe, what day you can buy the cheapest tickets and where to stay, if the price of the hostel is too high.

Further, in the first person.

Preparation and the flight

The success of budget travel planning. Need to start preparing at least a month. Of course, all the tickets for planes in the framework of the special project “Europe for a penny” I bought on loukost. Unfortunately, almost none of them do not fly from Ukraine, so initially you need to cross the border in any direction. At first, I went to Poland, but already there is from Warsaw there are a huge number of budget flights. The second time I went to Vilnius. In the third decided to go to Bucharest. From Romania can be very cheap to fly to the South.

Interesting fact! I highly recommend you buy tickets on Tuesdays. Few know why the price of the ticket, for example, 20 euros, and tomorrow 30. You immediately get scared and decide to immediately buy it until it began to cost more expensive. Don’t do this! Wait until Tuesday. This is the day when all airlines count the cost of tickets, analyze how much they bought for the week. And on this day the price is significantly reduced. All my tickets I bought on Tuesday – in gold, so to speak, days.
Luggage

Low-cost airlines luring people in with low prices, but then still find workarounds to make sure that you “acquire”. Lift the veil: I’ve got this time was not a very pleasant incident. Usually I somehow managed a small Luggage still pass, but this time I was told a firm “no”. Like, take with you on the plane. This means that you have to get rid of something in the bag. Reluctantly, my camera threw a Swiss army knife. Compared to this the fact that I had no sunblock, little things. So be careful with that, when you collect the Luggage – don’t take a lot of valuable things for you.

Getting around the city

Prepare your feet before – here’s my advice. I practically walked everywhere. But there is one caveat – low-cost airlines mainly arrive far from downtown 50 kilometers. That is, until something needs to get there. The bus ticket costs a lot: the price of the most expensive that I’ve seen is 34 euros. In such cases, a bail out services for passengers. With their help, you can drive for 3-4 euros. There is a difference between 3-4 and 34.

Accommodation

Of course, I tried to sleep in kauchserferov, the people that can be found on a special website and ready for free someone to shelter. The main thing is to prove yourself in the letter. Of course, unpleasant incidents have been so few times I still had to urgently look for housing. And it’s a disaster if you arrive in season. You understand, a bed in the cheapest hostel in this time starts from 20 Euro. For me it was too much money, so I found an alternative. Camping! There come people with caravans and tents. There the bed is namnoooogo cheaper. Highly recommend this option, as I really appreciate it.

Food

I tell you this: I was much taken with him. If anything, and we had to buy, I went to the market – in Europe they are very good. There are very many products offered for tasting – if a little bit to try, and you can eat. And in Spain, for example, I saved significantly on the purchase of paella – the national dish. Usually it is 10-15 Euro in restaurants, I found it for 2 euros. In General, in Europe there are products for which prices are significantly lower than in Ukraine. For example, strawberries in Greece is 15 hryvnia per kg, and a large piece of cheese “Camembert” in Spain – about 35 hryvnia! In General, what we have is a delicacy for them – routine. So I bought a Camembert, even cut it a bit to feel all the luxuries of this life, and enjoyed. Here’s my lunch.

Leisure

If you “dig” on the Internet, you can easily find a bunch of free or inexpensive entertainment even in the most expensive capitals of Europe. In my case, good assistants were also people with whom I lived. They are almost the map I drew for directions to a particular place.

For example, in Ibiza for free diving. In Valencia, the city authorities and is very loyal to the tourists on holidays and weekends, almost all city museums are free. All for comfort people! In Athens there is a special service in the Internet, where you can find out what free entertainment can now be found in the city. And in Venice they gave me tips on how to get to the place where they make gondolas. A very exciting sight! In General, if you try, in any city, you can find what to visit, without spending a lot of money.

So properly plan your vacation and budget, meet with local, carefully “sweep” the Internet and an inexpensive but exciting trip is guaranteed!
