To pan-European FBI is still very far away

До общеевропейского ФБР еще очень далеко

A single European intelligence Agency that will be able to provide security throughout the EU, will not be soon. According to the newspaper Le Figaro, this was stated by the Minister of internal Affairs of Belgium Jan Jambon.

According to him, a number of countries spoke against the idea of establishing a European counterpart of the FBI or the CIA, proposed by Belgium after the terrorist attacks on 22 March in Brussels. “We can, of course, to continue to dream of it as the ideal, but to expect that it will be implemented, is not necessary, – said Ambon. – The idea is decent, but at the moment unrealistic”.

Therefore, each country should ensure its security. That is why, according to him, the Belgian remains the third threat level (penultimate). “I hope that we will be able to return to normal life as soon as possible, – said the Minister. But we see no possibility to reduce the level of threat.”

He admitted that at present, the authorities in many European countries there is an acute question, “how can we reduce the support of terrorists from the population”. In his opinion, the Islamists can be caught or eliminated, but you also need to fight ideas promoted by the group “Islamic state”.

Recruiters ISIS has attracted hundreds of young people, they went to fight on the side of Islamists in Syria and Iraq, but now, after defeats that suffer grouping in Syria, are beginning to return to Europe. Intelligence agencies fear that the home they will continue to fight, to carry out attacks. Law enforcement agencies are trying to quickly identify and detain, sometimes this is possible only through the records that those left on their pages in social networks.

In parallel, the police has been active in combating potential terrorists out of Syria and Iraq, identifies those who will Fund the IG, creates weapons caches or keeps the apartment where you can escape the militants. Exchange of information on suspects is very helpful in this. So, Spain was detained Frenchman Antoine Denise who supplied the weapons the terrorist Amadi Coulibaly, seized on January 7, 2015 hostages in the store kosher products in Paris. His accomplices – brothers Sheriff and said Quasi – the same day she shot the editor of the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo.

But, unfortunately, there are examples of how this cooperation is not working. Clear evidence of this are the attacks in Brussels, which killed 35 people.

However, the damage from the attacks of the Islamists could be more. In the apartment of one of the alleged organizers of the attacks in Paris on 13 November abdeslam of Salah, who was detained on 18 March, investigators found the documentation centre for nuclear research the West German city of jülich. Also earlier it became known that the brothers Khalid and Brahim Bachraoui, undermined himself in Brussels, set up a hidden camera in front of the house Manager of the Belgian nuclear program. All it says is that the targets of terrorists could be NPP. These plans fell through only because of the arrest of the leader of a group of Abdeslam.

Currently he is being held in a Belgian prison, but will soon be transferred to France. The interior Minister of Belgium noted that “the transport will be carried out with proper safety measures,” and the media will not be able to live reports about it to his associates, if they still at large, are unable to release it.
