Timoshenko – the silver medalist of the Olympics modern decathlon

Timoshenko arrived in Brazil to the status of world champion in 2015, but shortly before the finish of the Olympic cycle, the leader of the Ukrainian team broke his leg and was forced to miss the last world Cup. Despite not the most favorable circumstances, in Rio Timoshenko has confirmed its high class, for the first time in his career after winning Olympic medal.

Before the final record of modern pentathlon Timoshenko took an intermediate eighth place in the combine (running + shooting) the Ukrainian started at 34 seconds later than the leading Russian Alexander Lesun.

Timoshenko brilliantly fulfilled the final stage of a two-day marathon – Paul allowed himself only two additional shots and demonstrated substantial cross-country training. At the finish of Timoschenko just seven seconds behind Lesun.

Pavel Timoshenko became the second Ukrainian winner in Multisport. In the 2008 Olympics in Beijing Victoria Tereshchuk managed to win bronze
