The editors of the American magazine Time has published an annual ranking of the 100 most influential people in the world. The list is divided into five groups: “the pioneers,” “titans,” “leaders,” “idols” and “artists”, each with from 14 to 31 name.
The managing Director of the International monetary Fund Christine Lagarde headed the list in the category “leaders”. Actor, Director and writer Lin-Manuel Miranda won the first place among the “pioneers”. The founder of social network Facebook mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan in category “titans”. Actor Leonardo Di Caprio was recognized as the top “idol”, and model Priyanka Chopra topped the category “artists”. Thus, the most influential were named six people.
However, in the ranking there are many other famous names. So, there the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, Chinese President XI Jinping, U.S. President Barack Obama, contenders for his place in the White house Hillary Clinton and Donald trump, the US Secretary of state John Kerry.
Time publishes list of 100 most influential people in the world since 1999. The list usually consists of those people (or organisations) whose actions, in the editors ‘ opinion, have the greatest impact on the situation in the world.
