Perfect city for lovers of mysticism.
A little further South to the American San Francisco, near Daly city, is the tiny town of Colma, in which every living resident has more than a thousand dead.
On 518 acres in the city there are seventeen cemeteries which lie more than half a million dead. The majority of people buried here are former residents of San Francisco. The authorities of the metropolis, at the time, began a campaign to rid the city of cemeteries, on the grounds that soil contamination and spread of diseases.
In fact, it was about the cost of land for development. Hundreds of thousands of the dead were excavated and reburied in the MCPFE. The bulk of the population of the town, until the 80-ies of the last century, consisted of gravediggers, florists, producers of tombstones and monuments. And about the dead people began to settle in other professions. Today the motto of the inhabitants of Colma is: “It’s great to be alive in the MCPFE”.
