A huge stone poised on the edge of the mountain.
On the mountain top of mount kyaikto, Myanmar is inexplicable miracle, and one of the three most revered Buddhist shrines – a huge granite boulder with a built on top of a pagoda, strikingly kept on a small natural ledge. Buddhists believe that the boulder is not allowed to fall some hairs of the Buddha who trapped inside the pagoda.
The stone seems to be teetering on the edge contrary to the law of universal gravitation. Pilgrims from all over the world come here from all over the world to add their wafer thin sheet of gold – what explains the appearance of the stone.
The height of the gilded stone is 7.6 meters, plus a pagoda adds another 7.3 meters height. It can shake two strong men. Some say that the stone can be stretched the rope.
Legend has it that the Buddha, being in these places, gave a strand of his hair to a hermit named Tek That. The hermit hid the precious hairs and later gave them to the king with a wish to keep them in the stone resembling the head of a hermit. And this king had inherited supernatural powers from his father, the alchemist, mother of the Princess of the dragons naked.
They found a suitable stone on the bottom of the sea. Then, with the help of Thiamine (king of spirits in the Buddhist cosmology), they found a suitable place and built on top of the pagoda, which was walled up a strand of the Buddha. But the boat, which was carrying stone, turned to stone. According to legend, these hairs do not give the gold rock to fall down and roll down the mountainside.
Legend also says that the pilgrims who climbed to gold mountain three times in the same year be blessed with wealth and recognition.
