U.S. President Barack Obama welcomed the agreement between Moscow and Washington ceasefire agreement in Syria. This is stated on the White house website. Press Secretary Josh Ernest, in turn, said that to implement the ceasefire will not be easy, reports TASS.

“Obama stressed that at the moment the priority is getting a positive response to the ceasefire agreement from both the Syrian authorities and the opposition,” the statement said. In addition, there is a need for the political process under UN auspices and to focus on the fight against international terrorist organization “Islamic state”.

The President of the Syrian national coalition Khaled Khoja, in turn, said that the ceasefire agreement is designed for two weeks with a possible extension, reports Reuters.

Reached between the United States and Russia agreed also commented on in Turkey. “We believe that the introduction of ceasefire in Syria is possible. I hope that this time the ceasefire will be different from the previous ones and will be able to implement,” — said Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus.

Earlier on February 22 it became known that the presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama endorsed a truce in Syria on February 27. According to the Russian leader, the agreement is “a real step to stop the bloodshed”. However, he stressed that the ceasefire does not apply to banned in Russia grouping “Islamic state” and “dzhebhat EN-Nusra”.

The confrontation between Assad and rebels demanding his resignation, started in 2011 and escalated into a full scale civil war, during which force scored the terrorist organization. From 30 September 2015 support Assad’s forces have Russian air force and Navy. Alliance from 65 countries led by the United States conducts bombing inside Iraq since August 2014. A month later they started attacking the coalition on positions of terrorists in Syria.
