The decision of the UN Security Council to reject the application of Russia in Palmira “shows that the West is not interested in neither the liberation of Syria and the peace process”, convinced the representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“We are not so much surprised and disappointed at the attitude of their Western colleagues, many puzzled by the truth of their intentions regarding a peaceful settlement in Syria, said Maria Zakharova on the decision of the UN security Council to block a statement of the Russian side in Palmyra.— Believed that the delay in the response from Western capitals to release Palmyra — random phenomenon. Now obviously, this is part of a systematic approach”. “It (the decision to block the statement.— “B”) shows that actually they are not interested in neither the process of liberating Syria from the terrorists or to promote the peace process through reconciliation on the ground, especially cultural values and much that they regularly declare. It is exclusively geopolitical interest,” added Mrs Zakharova.
